Texas Department of Insurance Releases Hurricane Harvey Claims Statistics
Aggregate statistical data for claims filed by insurers for Hurricane Harvey was released by the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) on January 23, 2018. It estimates that insurers have paid $4.5 billion in claim payments and may ultimately pay a total of $15.7 billion in for losses caused by Harvey.
According to TDI’s website, the data call reporting date for this information was provided by insurers between September and October 2017. Keep in mind that these numbers will likely change as more claims are reported and processed.
