Our Hurricane Damage Claim Review Process

At McDonald Law Firm, we understand that each client’s case is unique; so we act with an unparalleled compassion and commitment, delivering individualized legal representation to each and every client.

We will:

  • Review the language of your insurance policy
  • Assess the damage to your home or business
  • Evaluate the reason for your insurance company’s decision

Settlement vs. Litigation

Our insurance litigation team will carefully review the language of your insurance policy, assess the damage to your home or business and evaluate the reason for your insurance company’s decision. Generally speaking, if we cannot reach a fair resolution with your insurance company, we will move forward with trial. Your lawsuit may also include additional damages for your carrier’s conduct in its handling of your legitimate claim.

“very helpful”

I just wanted to thank you and your firm for being there when I needed you to be and for helping me out during one of the most difficult times of my life. Without your help I would have been at the mercy of FEMA, and we all know what that means. You have been very helpful, and everyone that I have spoken with at your firm was always courteous.

You all were very methodical and kept me in the loop every step of the way. Would I have liked the process to be quicker? Yes, but I am sure you would also. In the end, I got more than I expected going in so I am very happy right now.

Hurricane Matthew, September 2016

Hurricane Matthew, October 2016

Hurricane Matthew Damage

From Haiti to North Carolina, Hurricane Matthew wreaked havoc with heavy rains that produced catastrophic flooding and sustained winds causing widespread structural damage, downed trees and power outages. Matthew’s storm surge pushed huge amounts of ocean water onto land, flooding roads, homes and businesses along the coast.

Your Hurricane insurance claim deadline may be fast approaching. Let’s talk.

If your flood insurance claim is not settled, in most instances you have one year from the date of the letter from your insurance company denying your claim, or awarding only partial payment, to file a lawsuit or your claim may be lost!

Why Choose Us?

We get it. Our firm suffered severe damage from a catastrophic storm.

We know first-hand the kind of devastation caused by Mother Nature. In 2000, our law firm was badly damaged by a powerful tornado that ripped through downtown Fort Worth. Not only did it uproot our business, but it disrupted lives.

Since that time, we’ve worked hard for countless other storm victims. We understand the need to get back on your feet and into your home and business. Most recently, we represented victims of Hurricane Sandy, one of the costliest hurricanes in US history.

We know how to stand up to big insurance companies with deep pockets.

Securing our services will not cost you anything out of pocket. We work on contingency, which means there are no legal fees unless we successfully resolve your case through settlement, mediation or a trial.

You’ve been through enough. Don’t settle for less than you are owed. We are only on one side – yours.

Free Case Review

We offer a free case review, which gives you the opportunity to discuss the specifics of your situation with one of our insurance lawyers and learn about the options available to you for resolution. We accept cases on a contingency fee basis, which means there are no legal fees unless we favorably resolve your case. In many instances, insurance companies will quickly settle simply because they know that you are represented by an experienced, aggressive lawyer.
