Unresolved hurricane damage claim?

Our insurance lawyers work for you not the insurance company.

After a hurricane, the damage to your home or business property can be devastating. Adding insult to injury, policyholders often find insurance companies delay, deny or make unacceptably low offers to legitimate policy claims. McDonald Law Firm has the experience of helping victims of natural disasters recover the maximum compensation allowed under their homeowner or business owner’s insurance policy.

In most instances, flood insurance is separate from your home or business owner’s insurance policy. Your policy may cover water damage but if your home or business sustained flood damage during a recent hurricane, you must have purchased flood insurance through the National Insurance Program (NFIP).

Hurricane Harvey victims: Know your filing deadlines.

If you insurance claim has been denied or underpaid, in most instances you have just one year from the date of your insurance company’s settlement offer or denial letter to file a lawsuit. Otherwise, your claim may be lost.

Hurricane Matthew, October 2016

Hurricane Harvey, August 2017

Hurricane Harvey Damage

In just 56 hours, Hurricane Harvey grew from a tropical depression over the Gulf of Mexico into a Category 4 hurricane. It made landfall on the evening of Aug. 25 near Rockport, TX with sustained winds recorded at 130 mph. Harvey’s strong winds and storm surge caused widespread damage throughout a number of towns along the Texas Coastal Bend, including Rockport, Copano Village, Lamar, Taft, and Aransas Pass. Harvey’s slow movement from Aug. 26-30 produced record rainfall and catastrophic flooding throughout Southeast Texas.

Hurricane Irma, August 2017

Hurricane Irma Damage

Irma first made landfall on Barbuda early Sept. 6th as a Category 5 hurricane with sustained winds of 185 mph. The latest forecasts for Irma show the storm’s path bearing down on the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico, and then tracking up the east coast Florida. The National Hurricane Center says that Irma has the potential to produce life-threatening winds, storm surge and rainfall and strongly urges that anyone on the storm’s path complete emergency preparations and evacuations immediately.

Our Hurricane Damage Claim Review Process

At McDonald Law Firm, we understand that each client’s case is unique; we act with an unparalleled compassion and commitment, delivering individualized legal representation to each and every client.

  • Review the language of your insurance policy
  • Assess the damage to your home or business
  • Evaluate the reason for your insurance company’s decision

Settlement vs. Litigation

After a thorough investigation, we will give the insurance company the opportunity to resolve the situation by requesting a fair settlement offer.  Many times, the insurance company is more likely to respond to an attorney, rather than to you alone.

Generally speaking, if we cannot reach a fair resolution, we will move forward with trial. If you win, the insurance company may have to pay your actual damages within your policy limits, and, depending on the facts, there is a possibility of bad faith damages for particularly egregious practices.

Free Case Review: 877-803-2897

We offer a free case review, which gives you the opportunity to discuss the specifics of your situation with one of our insurance lawyers and learn about the options available to you for resolution.

We’ll fight for the maximum compensation owed to you: 877-803-2897

The page that outlines the “who, what, where, when and how much” of your insurance policy.

Correspondence

Letters, emails or handwritten notes between you and your insurance company.

Damage Estimates

Any approximations of cost you’ve received to repair or replace damaged property.

Why Choose Us?

We get it. Our firm suffered severe damage from a catastrophic storm.

We know first-hand the kind of devastation caused by Mother Nature. In 2000, our law firm was badly damaged by a powerful tornado that ripped through downtown Fort Worth. Not only did it uproot our business, but it disrupted lives.

Since that time, we’ve worked hard for countless other storm victims. We understand the need to get back on your feet and into your home and business. Most recently, we represented victims of Hurricane Sandy, one of the costliest hurricanes in US history.

We work on a contingency fee basis.

Securing our services will not cost you anything out of pocket. We work on contingency, which means there are no legal fees unless we successfully resolve your case through settlement, mediation or a trial.

You’ve been through enough. Don’t settle for less than you are owed. We are only on one side – yours.
